Greening Up

Greens were rolled today for the first time of the season. The first mow will come soon, but we're not ready for it just yet. Once mowing begins the plant is going to want some water pretty quickly. The ground is still fairly moist in most areas, but we are going to give it a few more days of growth before we need to mow.

So far golfers are quite happy with conditions out there in the early season. Not all greens and fairways have broken dormancy. You will notice yellow (dormant) areas that are still shady around the club. These areas will continue to come around. Nothing is wrong, it's just a little slower to grow due to the lower soil temperatures.
