Day 2 - Tuesday, August 7, 2018

Every day this project will feature irrigation work. During the first week we focus on the mainline. Due to the location of the new green we have to re-route the mainline behind 12 and 18 green. This new mainline will feed the driving range tee and the new putting green. It is good that we are replacing the old line as we have had problems with it in the past. It is an original line from when the course was constructed.
Pictured below we are installing a new mainline isolation valve and adding a "T" for the new 4" line across 12 & 18. The white pipe is 8" pvc which was installed in 2003. During this project we are upgrading to HDPE which is fused together instead of glue or gasket fittings and is stronger in the long run.

Sod is being removed for the mainline install. We are also taking the opportunity soften some mounds behind 18 green. Some of the extra dirt from the new green will be used to even out the mounds to get rid of that modern look. The sod is being relocated to the right side of 13 and placed on plastic to be used in another location. The plastic prevents the sod from rooting into the existing turf.

The new cart staging area was hauled off today. The ash tree is being planned to be saved. It will be a challenge and we must be careful of the root zone through the demo process. The small putting green will be mostly open through the project and will close for a limited time during the irrigation install.
