This week has we have seen more improvements upstream on the Warrior ditch. As Denver Christian Schools renovates their property they are moving the open ditch into pipe. They are on schedule to be complete by the end of the week.
This is a great upgrade as irrigation water transported by pipe eliminates ditch loss by evaporation and plant uptake. The 24" Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP) can easily handle our irrigation flows.
During this project our irrigation water continues to run in the existing ditch. In October when the need for irrigation become less we will aim to turn the ditch off and the contractor can tie in both ends of the new ditch to make sure it flows smoothly.
Each day someone from Pinehurst or Colorado Academy is out to check on the installation process.
This winter we aim to separate storm drainage from the ditch so it does not flood the golf course at the 10th tee.
