Many times maintenance operations go unseen and are hidden in
the background. An Equipment Manager is the “behind the scenes guy” to the
“behind the scenes operation”. Our “behind the scenes guy” is simply the best.
Brian Adamson is in his 20th year at Pinehurst making sure every
blade of grass is cut to perfection and it goes far beyond that.
If anyone has a question on how something works, Brian gets the
first call. He maintains our entire fleet of mowers, carts, tractors, trucks,
aerators, rollers, sweepers, blowers, the list goes on. He maintains excellent
equipment records and keeps a tidy shop.
Many times equipment managers can get “lost” in the shop, but
not Brian. You will see him on the course each day checking in on the staff to
ensure the operation is going smooth. He is also not afraid to jump in and help
out, even if needed in another department of the club.
Some of his greatest accomplishments are the numerous
fabrication jobs to improve various pieces of equipment. He analyzes how each
piece is used and how it can work best for the club.
He is the backbone of the department and an integral part of the
Pinehurst team.
