Goose Patrol

Canada Geese have been a problem for a long time, especially on golf courses. They are proof that golf courses are a tremendous benefit to the environment as they are used as sanctuaries for all sorts of animals, birds, etc. Except, too many geese can be a problem. They create a mess, feed on grass and even sand.

Of course it is widely known that goose dogs have a tremendous value to chasing geese, but at Pinehurst, there is too much property for one dog to cover. Adding another tool to our fight will only help keep them at bay.

This week we have introduced the RC Cuda. It is a remote control unit that travels on grass, snow, ice and water. Other benefits to this unit is that is does not need to be feed, taken home at night, exercised or taken to the doctor each year. Of course there will be maintenance and training to operate.

We are excited to get some use out of this product this winter. It will be used at random to chase geese off the property. As we become familiar with the product we will develop better habits to keep geese away.
