Setting The Course

"Our goal is to give our members and guests the desire to come back and play the golf course again and again."

Setting the golf course, especially for tournament play is a process. Daily set up requires someone very familiar with the golf course and knows the game. No golf course ever plays the exact same day after day, the elements constantly change. It is one of the beauties of the game, as every day presents a different challenge. We aim to make the golf course fair, playable, and most of all fun.

We prepare for tournaments at least two weeks in advance, sometimes more. Timely fertilizer applications are critical so greens can match the desired speeds.

We use tools such as a stimpmeter to measure consistency, moisture sensors or soil probes to measure firmness and volumetric water content. A level app on a smart phone is used to understand the slope of the green for the desired hole location. Of course the most important tool is the putter and golf ball. For every tournament, every hole location is scrutinized. We understand ball roll to the cup from every angle and even from the approaches.
