Marston Reservoir Update

The Marston project is underway. De-watering the reservoir is what impacts the club. Tuesday a contractor began pumping water out of the reservoir into the channel that supplies the golf course with water. Here is a view of Marston from last week. There is still plenty of water in there. They are planning to pump for 3 months.
You will notice more water flowing through the club at this time. It is 2 to 3 times more water than normal this time of year. We have agreements with Denver Water and the contractor to only send a certain amount of water through the club to prevent flooding, but enough to take care of the golf course and cemetery irrigation needs. Every day we will take measurements with this staff gauge to determine flows. We will stay in contact with the contractor to learn about any changes. Sometimes the pump will be required to be turned off for maintenance. If the down time is significant, we have our off-site storage in the bullpen ready to go, so we are not left without water.

The upside to this project is that we are working with free water to irrigate. Water quality testing will happen this week to understand if there are any other management issues. This picture is the filtering system for the water being pumped to the club. This helps filter any silt and fine material to prevent contamination in our ponds.
This is the pump responsible for our water now. It is sending up to 3,000 GPM right now. This is the same amount of water our irrigation pumps can push at maximum.
