Mid Winter Update

We have a few projects going right now as we prepare for spring. At the 3rd green on the Maxwell Course we have a straw mat being used along the bunker edge of the right side sand trap. The goal is to shade the south east facing bank from the sun. It also can help with keeping moisture on the bank for the plants to survive dry stretches. South facing slopes can have a difficult time surviving dry winters with a lot of sun. Once the turf has broken dormancy, the cover will be removed.

This mound of soil is behind the 13th green. We are moving some old material from the compost area on #6 and adding onto the mounds behind the green. By spring this area will be seeded for new growth so it can blend into the existing surroundings.

The 15th tee is coming along, the recent snow set us back almost two days. The tee is being shaped into three different teeing grounds. We are excited to bring a slightly different view of this hole. We think you will like the changes. We are hoping to have grass on the ground in the next week or two depending on weather.
