Winter Rules

The best way winter golfers can protect and prevent long-term damage to our greens is by fixing and repairing ball marks.

Denver golf in the winter can be nice, real nice in fact. It is not uncommon to find day time highs in the 60's with full sun. Heck, it's part of why we live here.

Greens surfaces thaw out at those temperatures and golfers can make ball marks in the green.

In the winter the plant is not growing and can't recover from the damage as quick as the summer months. If the mark is not repaired we are left with these blemishes all through winter.

More topdressing is required to smooth ball roll and conditions worsen through the winter when marks go untouched. Remember, golfers should always have their ball repair tool handy.
