Winterizing

November is the beginning of winter for golf course maintenance. It is important to winterize the golf course properly as plants enter dormancy.

Fertilizer is complete on all of the golf course. Some late applications of nitrogen in the fall can assist the plant entering the winter by building carbohydrates in the plant. These applications can also help with spring green up.

Our three week process of topdressing fairways is on target. The 18 hole is complete while the 9 hole course will be completed within the week. Then we will turn to topdressing tees and approaches next week.

Leaf clean up is on going through the fall as many trees around the property are stubborn with their leaves. Irrigation maintenance is ongoing. We have completed some new improvements on both courses this fall and we are hoping to get another project done before the winter. The irrigation system is scheduled to be winterized near Thanksgiving.
