Ready

As the trees cast long shadows on the fairways, Pinehurst rings true beauty at dusk.

Last night we began evening maintenance that will pay off for todays play. The best cut comes when the turf is dry. Last night we cut fairways and approaches, followed by filling divots, fixing ballmarks, checking green speeds, blowing and picking up tree debris.

Yesterday's forecast was off just a bit and we received barely a trace of rain fall, certainly nothing that amounted to anything. However, the cloudy cool day proved to be just the ticket as it helped with keeping the course on the firm. The fairways are showing a little color with some light purple and brown in spots. This is a perfect sign of  firm fairways and the golf course will be a great test today and the rest of the week.
