Planting Trees

Two new trees were planted at the entrance of the club this week, one Ponderosa Pine and one Colorado Blue Spruce.
They have big shoes to fill but they are beautiful specimens and will do well in this location. They are located near the old trees, but we had to consider the bike path and the proximity of the existing trees to prevent overcrowding.

Once mature they will screen nicely. In the meantime, they could be the best looking trees on the property.

We have been busy preparing the soil for these trees and tying into the existing grade. Because of the severe slope behind the trees a small wall was required to brace the soil for the root ball of the spruce tree. I knew we could find a use for this old rock.

The old stumps have been ground and will be sodded over. We will wait until irrigation is turned on before sodding.
