8 inches new

Yesterday we measured 8" of new snow that fell on the course during Sunday's storm. Couple this with last week's 5.5" and we gained over an inch of moisture in four days. This storm will keep the course closed for some much needed rest.

I am most excited about the amount of moisture for our trees. They have long awaited a soaking storm to saturate the soils. Today we are experiencing some light flurries at the course that have accumulated to another inch.

What does this do for drought conditions? We are still dealing with drought conditions, but it buys us about 3 weeks of moisture currently. We would need a dozen or more storms like this past Sunday to relieve drought conditions. It is our hope that much of the run off goes to fill local reservoirs to be used later this year.
