When watering through the winter months you run the risk of having some troubles. The mainline of the irrigation system was installed below the frost line and is currently filled to provide water to frost-free valves located at each putting green.
Pictured on the right is the valve that has started to separate from the 10 inch pipe and has been leaking. The reasons why are unclear at this time.
This is not going to be a quick, cheap or easy fix. Pictured on the left you can see how far back we need to dig in order to get the pipe out of the ground to make repairs. Parts for this size pipe are not something we normally keep on the shelf. Our goal for Thursday is to properly identify the problem and retrieve the right parts. Expect this hole at 4 tee on the Maxwell into next week.
