We have begun with repairing the right side fairway bunker on 18. If you have been out on the course lately you will notice that the sand has been removed. This bunker has been highly contaminated with large rocks that have worked their way to the surface.
As we uncovered the sand, we noticed a large amount of rocky soil on the northwest side of the trap. This is clearly the main source of the rocks contaminating the bunker. Currently we are removing some of this rocky soil and substituting with a soil that can compact easier.
While we are here we will focus on the anatomy of a bunker. Items to repair before replacing the sand are drains, consistency of the bunker floor, return to the original edge of the bunker and address any irrigation concerns around the perimeter.
Please allow some time to make these repairs. Working around Mother Nature this time of year can be challenging. We are excited to return this bunker into proper working order.
