Watering Fairways

Last week we fully winterized the irrigation system. This week we are watering again.

The winterization process is highly important to maintain our most important asset on the golf course with overnight freezing temperatures.

The day time temps are real nice, great for golf in fact. But this warm trend is requiring us to get out and water some turf. Wetting down the crowns of the plants is sufficient enough.

Pictured here you see our water tank rolling out 1,000 gallons onto the 4th fairway. This is one method to winter watering. We do our very best to watch for golf and stay out of your way. But if you see this tank out there please stay out of the way. It is very difficult to stop this tanker once it starts irrigating. We run the risk of wasting water if we have to stop as the operator would need to shut off the valve in the back of the unit.
