Water Restrictions; Part 2

There need to be some changes to golfer management on the golf course during drought conditions. First is cart traffic. All cart traffic, including push carts should be driven in the fairways and cart paths.

Since the fairways are being irrigated, they are better prepared to handle traffic stress. Cart paths should always be used whenever possible. Excessive traffic stress in non-irrigated areas will result in death to the plants and it will require extra funds to recover when water is available.

Smoking should be prevented if possible. Fire danger is high around the state. At this time we ask that all smokers be extremely careful and extinguish all butts properly. Trees and native grasses can easily catch fire under these conditions.

Our goal moving forward at this time is to keep the main playable areas healthy and reward a good shot. All is not lost, we ask that you follow these simple guidelines to assist us with keeping Pinehurst beautiful, fun and exciting to play.

Thank you for your understanding. Keep checking the blog for more on water management and golf course conditions.
