Holes

As the heat is quickly approaching it is important to prepare greens accordingly. Tuesday we will be performing a very fine solid tine on greens to vent them. We are doing far more than just poking holes.
While the course is closed on Tuesday, following the holes we'll be overseeding with bentgrass seed, rolling, lightly sand topdressing and applying a wetting agent.
The holes allow bentgrass seed contact to the soil for increased germination. They also provide a path for the agents to adhere to soil particles to assist with water percolation through the profile. The holes also allow oxygen into the root zone and cool temperatures.
Rolling is critical to return playing conditions back to normal.
