Exercise

Tuesday was a day for maintenance on the greens. They received a healthy exercise in preparation for the amount of play ahead of us. First we vented the greens with a solid "pencil-thin" tine. The holes help break up compaction, loosen the soil and allow oxygen into the profile. We followed the venting with sand topdressing, bent grass seeding, gypsum (calcium), rolling (to smooth the surface), wetting agent application and it all ended with a healthy irrigation cycle last night.
