Roots

This sod was put down on Tuesday and we already have new roots grabbing hold of the dirt! The weather could not be better for sod growth as we can tell. After the sod was in place we applied a dose of starter fertilizer and some wetting agent granules to help maintain moisture levels in the rootzone.
In the second picture you can see the earthworm activity taking place in the sod. This is another great sign of healthy turf. Earthworm activity is sometimes referred to as the poor man's aerification. They create many channels in the soil for oxygen exchange.
