Yesterday we completed fairway aerifcation on holes 1-8 on the Maxwell. Today we are going after holes 9-13 and maybe part of 14 if we get lucky.
Turf conditions were dry and ideal for punching and made clean up much easier. We use 5/8th inch diameter tines that punch every 2.25 inches. This frequency of disturbance allows us to remove a lot of thatch build up in the turf canopy.
Following the aerification we are sand topdressing. This process takes a little longer. We have one large topdresser for fairways and transporting the sand through the golf course has its limitations.
