Nature's Course

I spotted this out on the back of 15 green the other day. By far this is the worst of the snowmold on the golf course. At least you can tell that the fungicide application that was put out in the fall works really well.
You can also tell by this picture that 15 green is an area that holds snow the longest. With the tall pines to the south and the hill to the west, it is difficult to for sun exposure to increase melting in the winter.

Prolonged snow cover in the winter is a recipe for snow mold development. The remedy here is sun and warm temperatures, followed by aerification to allow oxygen into the rootzone to promote photosynthesis. After that, a healthy application of fertilizer to stimulate growth and increase microbial activity in the soil. There are signs of green growth in these patches, so recovery should be fine.
