Course Updates and Clarifications

Yesterday was an exciting day for tennis as one of the two newly renovated courts were being poured.   The next pour should occur in the middle of next week.

As for the golf course, the leaves are almost all on the ground. Next week we will continue to get sweepers around the property.

The first round of fairway topdressing is complete on the Maxwell Course. I have had some comments on the amount of sand being used recently. It has been noticed that possibly more sand is being applied than when we started. In fact that is not true. What is being noticed is that the plants have begun to harden off for the winter and they are losing their density. Also, with the ground becoming frozen, it is not accepting the sand as much as it did in the later part of October. We have a second topdressing application that is needed before the next growing season. Originally it is planned for March, if that schedule moves up any, we will notify.

Finally there is one topic that I wanted to clear up. Last week I posted a short film on conditions of the Ft. Logan ditch. The ditch is managed by the Ft. Logan Ditch Company which is comprised of a few stakeholders including PCC. That ditch is mostly located off site to draw water from Bear Creek. The film provided was off-site in the southwest direction of the club.  The pipe has been augured and is currently being flushed. The company is looking into various lining options for future ditch health.
